Well Alrighty Then

It might seem strange that this story I am about to share is what has prompted me to dust off this blog, but trust me, it's worth it.

I work for a company that was founded in 1665 by Louis XIV.  We celebrated our 350th anniversary in 2015, and my boss was in charge of the celebrations and related events.  Being an archivist-paleographer and library curator, she created an online exhibit of historical archives, in addition to writing a book about the group and its history.

Today I received a phone call from a descendant of one of our former CEOs from the early 20th century.  He was doing some research on his family and wanted access to some of our archives, so I offered to send him a copy of the book with the link to the virtual exhibition.

I asked for his mailing address and he spelled out:

C-H-A-T-E-A-U V-A-U-X-L-E-V-I-C-O-M-T-E.

He is the owner of the Château Vaux-le-Vicomte.

Holy shit.

I love my job.
